The wonders of Audible...
It has been a little while since I have updated this particular blog, a change in full time job as well as dedicating time to working off Christmas weight ( I know, I know excuses excuses!), however I have been working hard to get myself really back into the mindset I need to be and getting as much information as possible.
There is so much information out there for us young start ups, from podcasts, articles, LinkedIn articles and audio books. I have wrote previous blog posts with book recommendations, and in this post, I want to share the wonders of Audible!
Now fully aware that I am not the first to use Audible, in fact no doubt you probably have a book or 2 on the go at the moment, but for those of haven't got an account, listen up!
I decided to get an account, a clever promotion on Facebook a few months ago with a month free lured me in. Since then, I have enjoyed listening to several great books on my endless commutes including 'Winners and how they succeed' by Alastair Campbell and 'Black Box Thinking' by Matthew Syed. Currently I'm listening to the '10 x Rule' by Grant Cardone, who has several great books.
I know there is the temptation to listen to sport podcasts and the odd comedy podcast, and I do believe you need to set time for them, however I urge you to get an audio book in there too. With all the switching of tubes, moving around large stations, it can be easy to drift off so I limit to 3 chapters per journey so I can get as much out of the book as possible. Audible is £6.99 a month, which includes a credit per month which you can save up. You download them to your phone or iPad, and they stay in your library for ever ( not 100% about that, but assume they do...) The vast majority of books are now recorded for audible, including old books too. I listened to the famous, ' How to win friends and influence people' a few weeks ago, which was originally published back in 1936!
So if you haven't already, get yourself an audible account and get as much information from these great books as possible!
Do you have an recommendations for good books to read about business and mindset? Please do share! Thanks for reading this short, but hopefully helpful podcast!
Please note, I have no connection to Audible, purely just a big fan!
